About the role

This role is based in Brisbane and will require frequent site travel ensuring the required level of planning and execution management is achieved throughout each projects development, delivery and handover phases.

The Commissioning Specialist (with support from the wider commissioning function) will be required to provide planning inputs for the development of commissioning strategies, plans and methodologies. Once a project enters the delivery phase (execution), the Commissioning Specialist will support the project delivery lead to manage the implementation of commissioning activities through a combination of contractor supervision and/or self performance of the scope of work. The Commissioning Specialist may be required from time to time to act as the Company Representative for specific work packages.

Key responsibilities will also include:
  • Effectively transition projects through each stage of the project commissioning and completion development, from strategy through detailed planning and into Delivery and Handover;
  • Provide commissioning and completions input to tender documents;
  • Participate in commissioning planning workshops, risk assessments and readiness reviews; 
  • Provide commissioning planning input to project Engineering Information Management including document management and handover for project handover documentation;
  • Conduct appropriate audits to identify where necessary, corrective or adjustment activities for the commissioning contractors; and
  • Provide regular reporting and presentation material to line and project leaders for each project.

About You

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in engineering or trade qualification with relevant experience in Project Management environment leading projects and managing objectives in the operations. Your proven leadership experience, strong safety leadership experience and knowledge of project management coupled with business acumen will ensure success in this role.

The nature of the role requires you to be focused on stakeholder engagement and focused on process discipline. A good understanding of contracts and procurement practices and be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once will be critical to the success of this position.
