About the role

Data Governance Specialists the experts for Finance master data; responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data, creating standards and maintaining a consistent use of data resources across Minerals Australia.You will bring your expertise in data governance to provide business review on critical finance master data requests, validate changes and recommend improvements to existing processes, practice and systems.Key accountabilities of this role include:
  • Engage with Finance teams and other stakeholders for the creation of key finance master data, ensuring the integration of Finance Master Data within and between processes prior to submission to the Master Data Organization (MDO).
  • Review business critical Finance master data requests to change or delete master data. 
  • Recommend, review and implement improvement initiatives in existing processes, practices and systems. 
  • Provide support to ad-hoc requests or queries and assist with the resolution of complex requests and escalations.
  • Ensure compliance of Master Data requests to BHP’s data quality standards and Finance Governance standards
  • Complete regular data compliance checks (e.g. data cleansing.)

About You

To be successful in this role, you would have been working in an environment of Governance, master data standards and management, as well as process improvements.  You will have the following attributes:
  • Demonstrated understanding of master data structures/architecture and requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of business requirements including, but not limited to, cost models, joint venture and hierarchies
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder management and continuous improvement advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in heavy data volume environments
  • Experience with SAP
