About the role

Reporting directly into the Manager Development (ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning), this role is responsible for the development of ERP applications and enhancements.

You will be working with across multiple teams within ERP technology capability, functions project delivery and technology project delivery to support your team meeting the business requirements. Duties include:

• Develop state of the art, enterprise-class ABAP solutions, that best meets the business requirements and is supportable and scalable.
• Provide recommendations on solution design, best practices and architecture to functional teams whenever necessary to ensure minimal rework and redesign when we receive finalized functional specifications.
• Work independently to develop technical specifications which clearly communicate high-level architecture as well as detailed design for large, complex solutions with multiple integration points
• Perform code reviews for the team when required and enforce best practices and naming standards
• Continuously improve own skill sets including but not limited to technology, business knowledge, communication and team mentoring.
• Develop and mentor team members, encourage them to learn new technologies and improve their skill sets.
• Be an innovator for the team by keeping abreast of SAP technologies and development practices and advising management of ways to implement
• Manage tasks through the Software Development Life Cycle; ensuring design is scalable, supportable and robust.
• Communicate project status to upper management and provide insight on any current and upcoming issues
• Escalate issues to key management and stakeholders
• Collaborate with project managers and functional analysts to ensure development is on track and to resolve issues and provide root cause analysis for defects
• Make recommendations to functional teams of any possible improvements to standard or custom processing that may improve user experience, performance, or system stability.
• Other duties assigned as needed

About You

• 8-12 years of enterprise experience specialising in the design, solution architecture and development of SAP applications and enhancements.
• Prior successful delivery experience with large and complex ERP projects.
• Advanced knowledge and extensive hands on experience in ABAP OO, Dialog programming, ALV, Enhancements (User Exit, BADI, Enhancement Spots), Forms (SAPScript, Smart Form, Adobe Forms) WebDynpro & POWL and Workflow Development.
• Advanced knowledge and extensive hands on experience in PI/PO proxy implementation, IDOCs/ALE, Gateway Services (OData) and other common interface methods.
• Experience in technical design and build complex objects in modules such as FI, AP, AR, GL, SD, MM, PM, PPPI, and TSW.
• Advanced knowledge and extensive hands on experience in performance optimization of key processes using tools such as SAT, SQLM, SWLT and debugging.
• Experience in technical design and build objects in HR ABAP is a plus
• Experience in technical design and build objects in S4HANA
• Knowledge and experience in HANA and Cloud Development
• Knowledge and experience in CDS views
• Knowledge and experience in Fiori application development is a plus
• Fantastic communication skills and the ability to closely partner with key stakeholders
• Ability to effectively work with multiple teams including third-party vendors, in globally diverse and dispersed teams.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to manage complexity under pressure and ambiguity
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent STEM qualification.
• Relevant SAP Certification
