About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent of Governance and Technical Stewardship at Goonyella Riverside Mine, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise to the operation. This will involve the execution of tasks associated with providing engineering technical support and ensuring a robust risk and benefit based assessment process is followed for engineering applications.

As a degree qualified engineer, you may be called on to assess improvement initiatives, review modifications at the operation or provide input into engineering initiatives.

Your responsibilities
  • Manage the governance of the Asset Integrity for the mines critical assets (draglines, shovels, stackers/reclaimers, electrical infrastructure and CHPPs);
  • Provide technical engineering support to front end loading of capital and operational projects;
  • Review and approve modifications at the planning and close out tollgates;
  • Govern and control the maintenance of the Operation’s as-built drawings;
  • Provide technical knowledge and support the maintenance and production teams onsite;
  • Conduct in field audits against standards, maintenance plans and as-built documentation: and
  • Develop, review and update technical engineering standards.

About You

You will have proven experience across risk management, application of engineering principles, standards and technical auditing. Systems and process driven, you will need to be degree qualified (preferably electrical, mechanical or structural) in Engineering, preferably with mining industry experience.

Experience with working with SAP is desirable. Due to the nature of this role you will need to be an engaging, outgoing and technically competent engineer with a professional and process driven approach to Engineering.
