About the role

BHP has recently launched an integrated Australian Energy Team tasked with the management of Australia’s largest domestic gas sales portfolio, electricity procurement for BHP Minerals Australia Assets and coordination of BHP Australia carbon activities to meet BHP global sustainability objectives.
Specialist Energy will contribute towards the origination and management of value accretive opportunities across our natural gas, electricity and carbon book/s. 

Demonstrates an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
Understanding of the Australian Energy market, including short term market dynamics and structural trends.
Originate and coordinate commercial opportunities across BHP Australian energy portfolio (natural gas, electricity and carbon)
Development of energy modelling tools and commercial analysis to drive decision making within the Australian energy team
Book performance and governance leadership including daily mark to market analysis against forward demand profiles
Connect with stakeholders across BHP to drive aligned approach to energy and carbon management 
Enable team through the development of commercial toolbox
Participate in full value chain delivery including engagement with internal and external stakeholders. 

About You

·       Diploma or relevant post-secondary qualifications in business/economics/logistics/law/science/engineering

Experience & Technical Competencies

·       Minimum of 5 years relevant business experience.
·       Energy industry experience in sales / procurement / trading / distribution / operations.
·       Strong analytical and modelling skills are desirable.
