Reporting to the Front End Loading Portfolio Lead, we are seeking a Specialist Engineering/Project Manager to support our Projects function in the successful delivery of modifications and operational projects.  This role requires understanding of and experience with the full project life cycle from Front End Loading through to Execution and close-out.This role will have the opportunity to project manage small projects through the project lifecycle from selection phase studies through to detailed design/execution and commissioning and handover.This role will be the pathway to other opportunities including leadership opportunities in the future.

About You

  • You will possess tertiary qualifications in Engineering. CPEng or RPEQ status is desirable. Your strong understanding of project control and management principles, as well as your understanding of BHP's projects standards and procedures will ensure your success in this role.
  • You will have a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience delivering projects within a mining environment and have a sound understanding of the Front End Loading process;
  • The ability to manage the engineering design process and prepare project deliverables including; scope of work, specifications, execution plans, cost estimates and schedule;
  • Experience in or familiarity with 1SAP, Planview, Documentum and project/contractor management systems will be advantageous;
  • Previous experience working in a matrix functional organization is highly desirable, and your effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be critical to your success;
  • You will also be a collaborative team player, committed to delivering results and able to operate with a high level of autonomy.
