About the role

This position supports Engineering Information Management (EIM) across BHP to ensure the consistent management of engineering datasets globally and across Assets. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring consistent management of engineering datasets globally and across Assets, including setting up systems to monitor compliance to these.
  • Guiding users so that engineering information is managed in the most effective and efficient manner, in line with the minimum requirements, throughout the information life cycle.
  • Working with key internal and external stakeholders to develop, maintain and continuously improve BHP’s global EIM standards, procedures, data repositories and processes to make it as simple, effective, efficient and sustainable as possible.
  • Supporting Assets in adopting the EIM requirements and standards.
  • Completing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of EIM systems after configuration to ensure that minimum requirements were well implemented
  • Maintaining the various EIM dashboards, reports, SharePoint site, etc.

About You

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, drafting, computer science, information management systems or equivalent.
  • Ability to analyse highly complex processes and data to streamline these to make them more effective and easier to implement.
  • Experience in structuring and managing complex databases and data sets, in particular engineering information, in the SmartPlant, Aveva or Bentley tools.
  • Engineering background in Operations, Projects or Heavy Industry, and an ability to understand the value of engineering information throughout the asset lifecycle and how to manage it in a data centric way.
  • Understanding of the operating model and interaction between the processes, systems and people of Projects, Engineering and Operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding on how to build and manage effective global alliances, partnerships, and value networks.


You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
