About the role

This position reports to the HSE Manager, Petroleum Australia. You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with a number of stakeholders at operational sites and Perth based Operations and Engineering teams.  It will be pivotal that the incumbent can develop and maintain strong working relationships within the Australia Production Unit, Joint Interest Unit and Environmental Specialists at other Petroleum Operations in other regions.

This role involves embedding and monitoring the use of HSE systems to deliver functional excellence. It provides deep functional expertise to Petroleum Australia enabling the successful delivery of environment systems and processes. A significant portion of the role will be spent furthering the development and implementation of the environmental management systems defined in the environmental management plans and processes to monitor implementation. Another key focus area will be the updating of the HSE regulatory commitments register within CMO . This role works closely with the Australia Production Unit and Joint Interest Units. 
 Perth based, with travels required.

  • Establish, maintain and embed regional or asset HSE systems that complement the design and establishment related HSE processes
  • Facilitate workshops and project manage the update to the HSE regulatory commitments register
  • Support the provision of advice to Petroleum Australia Leadership Team on HSE regulatory issues, environment matters, global practices and emerging trends.
  • Monitor changes in HSE regulations and report on regulatory compliance via CMO
  • Monitor environmental performance at operational sites and compliance with regulatory commitments.
  • Identifies Environment Operational and HSE Functional Risks, priorities and improvement opportunities and integrates into the HSE work plan
  • Facilitates in the implementation, change management, adoption and embedment of projects inline within the HSE function.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or Environmental Management
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas.
  • In the preparation, approvals process and implementation of Environment Plans
  • In the preparation, approvals process and implementation of Oil Spill Plans
  • Familiar with Regulatory HSE framework as it applies to the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry
  • In the use of Microsoft Project and GIS systems
  • Exceptional writing skills
