About the role

  • Designs and implements Unified Communications systems, including:
  • Migration of analogue PBX phone systems to VoIP
  • Migration of legacy to next generation immersive video rooms
  • Consolidation of call manager infrastructure - Rollout of Jabber, WebEx & Spark
  • Unified dial plan
  • Troubleshoots complex UC related issues, such as voice quality issues
  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
  • Understanding of UC technologies and industry trends, including Voice, Video, Conferencing, and IM and how to apply them at scale
  • Understanding of Network & Wireless technologies
  • Knowledge of UC administration across multiple solution platforms and device types
  • A strong knowledge of network concepts and principles

About You

  • Experience in Unified Communications
  • Experience in a large enterprise converged network
  • Voice or Video Engineering experience
  • Experience in medium/large corporate voice and video rollout and support
  • Must have strong understanding of L1 to L4 networking
  • Heavy network "hands on" technical experience of the following Cisco UC technologies: - Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Voice Gateways, CUBE, Telepresence, Jabber, Webex, Spark, VCS, TMS, TCS, MCU's and Telepresence end points
  • Knowledge of video conferencing protocols, communications and standards, H.323, SIP, E.164
  • Knowledge of Voice circuits, including SIP, TDM, etc.
  • Knowledge of QoS, SIP, H.323, RTP, SCCP, SRST, SIP and multicast. - Knowledge of Network Management and experience with PRIME, Solarwinds, Netflow, Wireshark
  • Proven experience troubleshooting environments which include Cisco Unified communication & Video conferencing Infrastructure, Cisco Routers and Switches.

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional, Routing & Switching
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional, Collaboration
