We  are seeking a Specialist Improvement to join our Goonyella Riverside operations on a Monday to Friday roster. Reporting to the Superintendent – Analysis & Improvement (A & I), this position will provide continuous improvement expertise and facilitate the execution of performance improvement initiatives from conception through to execution.This role sits within the Production Coal department and will work closely with a number of operational and functional stakeholders.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the identification and with input from relevant stakeholders, lead the execution of improvement opportunities.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to compile and maintain a portfolio of improvement initiatives.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with other A&I teams, Production teams, Finance Business Partners & Mine Planning.
  • Provide input into operating cost models and productivity metrics, and improvements to future execution plans, designs, schedules and forecasts
  • Monitor execution of the mine plan to drive compliance


About You

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Mining or Processing would be highly regarded, however applicants with exposure to a mining or processing environment with alternative qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder and influencing skills
