About the role

Reporting through to the Superintendent Integrated Planning you will support the Integrated Planning processes of Planning, Optimisation and Governance whilst also providing technical expertise in mining and metallurgical process to support planning and value optimisation of the entire Olympic Dam supply chain. 

This is an Adelaide based position with occasional site travel.This role will be offered on a 12 month fixed-term basis (or internal secondment opportunity)
In this role you will:
  • Provide input to the Production and Maintenance A&I team’s efforts to maximise the Asset’s capacity and throughput, aligning with the outputs of capacity modelling
  • Be the subject matter expert for the Asset’s integrated planning systems and processes and continue to develop and improve them
  • Maximise economic value for the Olympic Dam asset by identifying key value trade-offs and determine the optimal operational decisions during the 5YP/2YB process, Quarterly forecast or during reforecasts following major unplanned occurrences
  • Be the subject matter expert of the Olympic Dam capacity model, identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Work with production, maintenance and finance personnel to ensure inputs to the capacity model
  • Identify and optimize the Asset bottleneck with a view to unlocking or expanding latent production capacity
  • Work with Asset Projects and Production Engineering teams to ensure they are deploying capital optimally, aligned with the current or future location of the site bottleneck

About You

  • Degree qualified in metallurgy or mining / chemical engineering
  • Exposure to a similar planning role within mineral processing or mining
  • Experience with theory of constraints analysis or business improvement techniques
  • Organisational skills for managing deliverables and multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen with problem solving skills
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities
  • Communication and influencing skills
