About the role

This newly created role has been developed to maximise our already strong process of Standardised work within our Mining Operations and to uplift production by focusing on the equipment and the performance of our people. This role will see you identify and coordinate continual improvement initiatives with the opportunity to add real value in safety and productivity to our Production crews.

You will be a part of our frontline leadership team and will support our leaders and crews to develop and sustain new ways of working, as well as build their problem solving capability. Utilising innovative approaches, tools and technology - you will play a key role in setting new standards to guide improvement and optimization activities in order to, elevate and support our people. This role has straight line development into a Superintendents position that will encompass an individual development plan.

About You

You will ideally be able to demonstrate:
  • The ability to effectively identify ways to eliminate hazards, waste and variability; 
  • Strong problem solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions; 
  • Strong stakeholder management with an ability to influence outcomes; 
  • Experience in leading and/or coaching teams on site - ideally; 
  • An Engineering (Mining) degree will be highly desirable.

This position is FIFO and site based in Queensland. We are looking for talented people to become a valuable member of our front line execution team, this is an exciting time for BHP.
