About the role

This role supports the development of Maritime strategy, in line with overall Commercial strategy, monitoring its implementation, coordination and integration within Maritime.

Accountabilities include:

  • Supports the development of the maritime strategy in line with overall Commercial strategy.

  • Supports the Supply Chain Excellence team with different joint innovation platforms to deliver on innovation projects and ensures alignment with Maritime Strategy.

  • Supports the development of commodity strategies in collaboration with the individual maritime teams.

  • Liaises with other sub-functions to understand the throughput requirements and volumes.

  • Ensures strategic alignment in the supply chain by working closely with customers internally and externally.

  • Contribute to Commercial wide strategic initiatives and plans, coordinated by SP&I, bringing insights / expertise from Maritime as required

  • Monitor Maritime strategy implementation / performance management (i.e. tracking scorecard KPIs)

  • Coordinate with SP&I (CI coaches) to upskill the teams in delivering improvement program.

  • Drive culture across the Sub-Function.

About You

·       Demonstrated success in delivering maritime projects, from strategy initiation through to execution.
·       Distinctive problem-solving and analytical thinking.
·       Experience in inbound and outbound maritime and land freight operations.
·       Strong background in commodity management and commoditised markets.
·       Strong understanding of shipping demand/supply dynamics, maritime industry and regulatory environment.
·       Ability to influence stakeholders, drive strategy development and lead change.
·       Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships and able to gain respect of across the team.
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·       Establishes effective communication channels and new ways of working to encourage collaboration of new ideas.
