About the role

The Specialist Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for providing technical support to the Gulf of Mexico Production Unit (GOMPU) operated assets in the mechanical engineering discipline. This position will support 2 floating offshore hydrocarbon production facilities and their associated infield subsea flowlines and equipment. This position is an office-based role, with occasional offshore site visits.

In this role you will:
  • Manage the design, detailed engineering, and planning of facility process modifications according to relevant specifications
  • Identify opportunities and progress to implementation via the Management Of Change (MoC) process
  • Demonstrate pro-active leadership in all aspects of your work
  • Support maintenance as needed in large campaign activities or shutdowns, including the development of plans and the management and execution of such assignments
  • Manage third party vendors with the execution of engineering activities and system troubleshooting
  • Support Operations teams, front line supervision and remote engineering to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Support the development of maintenance strategies to ensure safe and reliable production

About You

We are looking for an individual that possess technical and business knowledge, demonstrates excellence in communication and influencing skills.  You will have successfully completed a relevant degree in an engineering discipline:  a mechanical engineering discipline will be viewed favourably.  As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following:
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Up to 2 years relevant experience in an Engineering role
  • Experience with Facility Engineering/design/ construction is desired but not essential
