About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mine Scheduling Specialist who would like to work a team of professionals at our Mt Arthur Mine Site in the Hunter Valley Region. This unique position will enable you have a significant impact to the delivery of coal and site productivity through ownership of the mine site forecast.

New South Wales Energy Coal (NSWEC) is complex due to the size, dip and number of seams we actively recover, this creates a great opportunity for a scheduler to manage the interactions and leverage options to enhance value.

The Specialist Mine Scheduling role is a pivotal position within the Mine Scheduling team at Mt Arthur, which defines the what, how & when of the sites execution requirements in areas of drill & blast, overburden removal, and coal mining. As the successful applicant, you have visibility across all design and scheduling disciplines through appropriately timed development rotations as well as lead a team from the front.

You will use your strong technical skills and experience to develop schedules that will enable operations to deliver superior performance, while developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders to deliver safe and effective mine plans.

Your main responsibilities:
  • Ownership of the SPRY model for the SRF period;
  • Ensure the accruate forecast of coal delivery to CHPP;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with operational representatives to deliver key schedule objectives;
  • Monitor the monthly priorities and inventories within defined limits;
  • Pursue continuous improvement opportunities throughout your day-to-day work; 
  • Define the forward plan for drill and blast, 12 loading units and haulage by managing interactions at a complex mine; and
  • Lead and construct the monthly plan through your effective engagement with key stakeholders. 

About You

You will be tertiary qualified in Mine Engineering with the relevant experience in an open cut mining operation. Your experience with SPRY scheduling will be highly desirable.

Due to the nature of this role your people and communication skills are of the upmost importance as well as your relationship skills when liaising, negotiating and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders.
