About the role

We are currently seeking a Mine Scheduling Specialist to join our Mine Scheduling team based at Poitrel Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, you will assist the planning and execution of safe mine operations through the collaborative development of detailed designs and production schedules.

In addition, you will monitor and report on mine performance metrics and ensure compliance with the site safety health management system, environmental obligations, and legislative requirements. This is an outstanding opportunity for an innovative engineer to join our open cut, production-focussed Mine Planning team.
The role will provide opportunities to develop your mine planning, stakeholder management and leadership skills. This role will be tailored to your strengths and a career development plan will be created to help you achieve your goals.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Develop mine design, planning and scheduling in accordance with Production Plan conditions in a detailed and timely manner;
  • Design, analyze and monitor road network for haulage optimization;
  • Apply production performance tracking, analysis, and reporting to monitor progress of the mine operation;
  • Utilise data analysis to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities;
  • Build and establish close working relationships, with all parties involved, communicating all planning and improvement initiatives;
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance of all safety, environmental, and legislative requirements; and
  • Support the development of site budgets and financial forecasts.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, team oriented and enjoy continuous improvement and driving for results. You will ideally have previous experience in a similar role working for an organization in the mining sector.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or tertiary related discipline;
  • Experience in many aspects of Mine Planning;
  • Demonstrated technical engineering skills proficiency;
  • Ability to embrace change and strive in a continuous improvement environment;
  • Well versed in Vulcan, Deswik, Haul Infinity and/or MineScape software;
  • Have strong organisational skills and able to present information in a logical manner; and
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to build and maintain productive working relationships.

This role works on an 8 on 6 off roster. The successful candidates will have options to choose from a range of company provided travel arrangements or can also select to live residential in the nearby town of Moranbah with subsidised accommodation.
