About the role

As a part of our Operating Model, a global Technology function was established to provide operational and information technology services to the Company as well as lead technology innovation across the organisation.

As the Specialist Mobile Plant Systems, you will be engaged in providing specialist advice and executing tasks related to the development and enhancement of our mobile plant technology platforms. Your knowledge and experience will equip you to provide an insight into life cycle management and maintenance strategies, participate and lead root cause analysis investigations and help resolve priority support incidents and problems as necessary. 

You will also support the team in documenting and creating appropriate standards, procedures, work instructions and asset registers to support various global teams

About You

You will have a proven record of accomplishment and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Overriding commitment to safety;
  • Previous experience in operational support of mission critical systems in large scale complex environments, preferably mining/resources;
  • Previous experience with management and maintenance strategies;
  • Experience in complex application change management and testing;
  • Experience in developing and fostering positive internal and external relationships;
  • Extensive knowledge of Production Systems such as Fleet Management Systems
  • Highly logical thinker and skilled in identifying issues/problems.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • A multi-tasking team player who can also work in a stand-alone capacity

Would be nice to have

  • Knowledge in various technologies (VHF, UHF, wireless, microwave, J1939, RS232, RS422, TCP/IP, GPS);
  • Previous experience in Fleet Management Systems (FMS) or Machine Guidance (Modular,Caterpillar, and Mineware Technologies is desirable);
  • Experience working for an OEM
  • Complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) techniques;
  • A background in Control Systems and/or IT/OT Systems/ Applications;
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management tools;
  • Experience in the mining sector or other heavy industries desirable;
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management tools;

  • A relevant tertiary degree (STEM)  or relevant industry experience is essential;
  • ITIL Certification preferred.
