About the role

The Technology Integrated Operations department is offering an exciting opportunity for a radio technician to join our team. You will be based in our Perth Technology Operations Centre and become a valued member in one of our critical services front line response crews. This role will allow you to challenge your technical and critical thinking skills as you work directly with our technology customers. This role will allow you to develop a deep understanding of our mining operational businesses from across the globe and how we deploy and operate our critical technologies to support delivering our mining products to market.  

As a Digital Radio Technician working in the critical response crew your duties will include:
  • Proactive monitoring & event management to maintain critical production systems availability
  • Rapidly provide break-fix solutions to restore production system availability following outages
  • Perform maintenance activities that reduce failure rates and downtime of equipment
  • Safe execution of planned work to deploy production system changes & enhancements
  • Engaging site operation stakeholders during events, incidents, changes or planned maintenance activities
  • Applying effective risk controls to identify potential threats and minimise or remove a business impact
  • Execute Service Management operational processes to drive consistent execution for the entire scope of Integrated Operations accountabilities

Lifestyle Roster – Perth
This position will work on our Lifestyle Roster, working a pattern of days and nights, with a block of days off at the end of each swing. 
Employees on this roster enjoy two full weekends off out of four and will align to the following shift rotation: 2D2N5X, 2D3N4X, 3D2N5X. Shifts are 12.5 hours, including handover, and you will benefit from additional shift allowances, as part of your remuneration package. As an added benefit, those on a Lifestyle Roster will also enjoy an additional week of annual leave per year.

About You

As the preferred candidate, you will be a talented and highly capable Digital Radio Technician who has experience in operating & maintaining IT & OT systems in the following fields:  
  • Tetra Digital Radio Systems (Preferably DAMM, DIMETRA)
  • Motorola P25 Radio Systems
  • Cisco Switching and Routing 
 To be successful in this role, you will be a confident team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, who takes accountability for outcomes and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. You will be highly organised and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (including root-cause analysis) with the ability to prioritise effectively in a high-pressure environment.
You are likely to have knowledge of microwave radio systems SDH, PDH (Avait, Cambium). A Cisco professional certification (CCNA) is desirable but not essential as deep Cisco troubleshooting skills will suffice. Knowledge of Antenna Systems, Path Profiles, Solar and Power systems will be well regarded, though training will be provided.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi-award-winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
