About the role

Reporting to the Manager Operational Assurance, you will provide support in the delivery of the approved internal audit plan by effectively and efficiently assisting in the management of a portfolio of client engagements across Businesses, Assets and Operations.

By providing ongoing technical and audit process support to audit teams in the field, the Specialist Operational Audit is responsible for assisting in the delivery of all assigned engagements in line with the IAA processes, quality guidelines, early planning and adequate stakeholder engagement.

Your key accountabilities will also include:
  • Support the delivery of the approved annual internal audit plan with high degree of quality, by assisting in the planning, execution and closure of engagements in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter, relevant Our Requirements and professional and departmental standards
  • Enhance engagement audit quality in the dimensions of improved planning, audit team preparation and timely delivery of audit reports and audit closure
  • Continuously generate improvement and efficiency opportunities in the application of the professional and departmental standards in internal auditing, to deliver value-oriented audits
  • Support multiple concurrent projects using fit-for-purpose project management skills
  • Monitor fieldwork for processes allocated by the Audit Manager and supports the audit team during the conduct of field work
  • Assist in sourcing, training and managing suitable guest auditors, as well as managing logistics and safety of audit staff and contractors working in the field
  • Participate in audits as a specialist auditor to audit selected Operational scope in line with skill set and technical knowledge


About You

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with clients based on experience, actions, communication style and results
  • Knowledge and proven experience within the Resources industry and/or operation, processing, engineering or maintenance. Proven results in delivering recognised value and improving processes through influencing people
  • Well-developed project management skills involving oversight of a number of concurrent audit engagements
  • Highly organised and able to multi-task on a regional and international level
  • Results and details orientated with an analytical approach
  • Unwavering integrity and courage to act in difficult situations
  • Interest and willingness to conduct audits in both office and remote operational locations
