Our Operations

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. This role is based in Adelaide, offering quality standard of living without the high costs of most other Australian capital cities. Adelaide offers a Mediterranean climate, beach-side lifestyle, cosmopolitan cafés and restaurants and world class wine regions just an hour away.  All this plus an annual international festivals and events calendar makes Adelaide a vibrant, cultured, friendly environment to live, work and play in.  Please note this position is based in Adelaide, operating on a Monday to Friday 5,2 roster.

About the role

As a Specialist Planning & Analytics, you will report to the Manager Planning and Analytics, where you will provide insight into a highly skilled team and high performing function, leveraging your financial analysis skills and planning experience. This role will see you provide support and guidance in business planning, forecasting and valuation activities across our Olympic Dam Asset. You will bring engagement skills, including the ability to build effective relationships with individuals at all levels of the organisation.

You will be instrumental in developing integrated and cross-functional problem solving strategies to enable the achievement of critical business priorities. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities and communicating the potential impact to drive change. Your focus on maximising value, supported by a relentless focus on key value drivers, benchmark performance and any opportunities to close the gap to benchmark, will be utilised to facilitate the delivery of continuous improvement activities.

Core Accountabilities of the role
  • Support Finance and Operations in continuously improving processes to be fit for purpose, effective and efficient.
  • Support the analysis of production, benchmarking and project data to deliver insights and solutions to improve the business operations and financial performance.
  • Use models, systems and tools to ensure an optimal approach in delivering business requests that drive process efficiency and standardisation.
  • Work with Finance Business Partners and Operations teams to collect and process inputs to co-ordinate the annual Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) process for the Olympic Dam Asset. This includes the Life of Asset Plan, 5 Year Plan, 2 Year Budgets and Quarterly Forecasts.
  • Execute investment evaluation processes and modeling techniques to ensure adequate review of assumptions, outcomes and recommendations.
  • Apply innovative data wrangling and analysis techniques to identify and collate data.
  • Confidently present ideas, results and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
