About the role

Joining this friendly, supportive and professional Project Contracts and Procurement team, you will be responsible for working collaboratively to plan, implement and manage contracts according to the strategy with an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.

As the Specialist Procurement PC&P Projects, you will provide ongoing commercial support and guidance for existing and planned contract packages. Your key focus will be delivering end to end contract management as an integrated member of the Asset Projects team where you will develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders for the successful delivery of Coal Asset Projects.

In this role you will be responsible for: 
  • Developing strategies, undertaking sourcing, executing new contracts and managing contract variations compliant with the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct, Group Level Documents (GLDs), Functional Level Requirements (FLRs) and relevant statutory obligations;
  • Taking the lead in facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders to sponsor deeper relationships with all supply chain partners;
  • Liaising with other teams within the Supply team on collaborative tendering strategies that deliver spend aggregation benefits;
  • Monitoring performance of work under contract at both project and portfolio levels in line with contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Maintaining business intelligence of market conditions and external risks and opportunities;
  • Managing the documentation and review / approval process for the execution of variation or amendment requests for contracts to company guidelines;
  • Reviewing and responding to potential new vendors with suitable responses to business development enquiries; and
  • Escalating contractual issues to relevant stakeholders and coordinate the resolution process including the facilitation and resolution of issues arising from claims, invoicing etc.

About You

Ideally, you have had good experience working in a similar role with well-developed skills in establishing maintenance and support agreements.  It is critical that you are an analytical thinker with strong problem solving abilities who has a track record in providing business solutions.

Your relationship, negotiation and influencing skills will be key strengths as you are able to manage various relationships in a complex environment. Additionally, you are at ease in juggling multiple tasks and deadlines, and can adapt to changing priorities

Previous experience in mining or minerals resources industry would be well regarded, as would a tertiary qualification (Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Engineering, Business, Law) but not essential.
