About the role

A fixed term (12 month) opportunity has arisen within the Petroleum Australia Production Unit (APU) Subsurface team for a Production Engineer who will be responsible for completing various production engineering duties across a range of operated assets and some support to non-operated assets. In this role you will:
  • Develop and maintain an integrated model to forecast production in support APU planning activities.
  • Own or share accountability in maintaining nodal analysis allocation models in Integrated Field Manager (IFM), developing and maintaining IFM visual workflows as needed for surveillance.
  • Evaluate potential field production uplift opportunities through facility, network and well management initiatives.
  • Support management of well integrity through execution of processes within the Well Integrity Management System.
  • Provide analysis and develop operating guidelines and surveillance plans to manage flow assurance issues.
  • Develop and maintain production engineering real time surveillance tools and techniques.
  • Primarily focus on operated assets, with potential support to non-operated assets.

About You

The role will require a range of capabilities to effectively deliver the objectives of the Subsurface Team and include:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated production engineering experience, ideally within an operator, with the ability to apply knowledge and experience to derive integrated subsurface interpretations of complex systems and make sound decisions.
  • Previous experience with Subsea Developments and Offshore Subsea production operations including gas lift, water injection and gas injection.
  • Experience with common industry software applications including GAP, PROSPER, MBAL, RESOLVE, IFM, PI Process book. 
  • Sound communications skills with the ability to contribute ideas, proactively share information and effectively integrate and coordinate information and analysis within the team and across functions.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
