About the role

Reporting through to the Manager SCM21, this role will be accountable for the project quality activities and requirements are effectively implemented and maintained to facilitate safe and effective project delivery of the Smelter Campaign Maintenance Project.  Acting as the Owner’s Team lead you will have significant oversight of the QA activities of the EPCM. 

This position is based in Adelaide with some travel required. 

In this role you will:
  • Coordinate the execution of project quality methodologies, strategies and plans in accordance with project quality systems and standards
  • Monitor project quality expectations and requirements to ensure technical integrity and ultimate acceptable project delivery
  • Develop and implement a Quality Management Plan that includes the coordination and oversight of technical integrity and ultimate project delivery
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and contractor and vendor pre-qualification and assessments
  • Coordinate the development of project quality strategy, standards, processes, and plans for a major capital project
  • Provide quality expertise to the project team related to the compliance with the Quality Management requirements as detailed in the various Technical Specifications and Minerals Australia Projects Internal Standard
  • Coordinate execution of risk and quality management plans to assure effective management the project’s construction quality control scope of work

About You

  • Experience in a Quality Assurance and with background in engineering, fabrication and construction
  • Technical document review, Engineering Management and Safety in Design principal experience
  • Degree qualified in engineering is desirable
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary projects in a mining, processing or heavy industry environment
  • Organisational skills for managing deliverables team and multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen with problem solving skills
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities
  • Communication and influencing skills, including the ability to produce concise reports and presentations to senior managers
