About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as Specialist Tax EMEA to work closely and effectively with the Manager Tax EMEA to support the overall Tax function by performing, as part of the EMEA team within the Transfer Pricing & International (TP&I) team, tax advisory, tax compliance, tax accounting, reporting and forecasting, and tax stewardship activities across a range of jurisdictions.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Deliver and implement tax technical advice, being accountable for the accuracy and completeness of tax data and/or analysis provided to internal/external stakeholders, and ensuring that tax risks and opportunities are identified, quantified and incorporated in advice. 
  • Lead the tax compliance, and tax accounting, reporting and forecasting work – supervising and reviewing the day-to-day work of two Tax team members in Global Asset Services in Kuala Lumpur – and ensure that activities are performed in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
  • Support the Manager Tax EMEA with the management of engagements with regional tax authorities
  • Develop business partner relationships with key stakeholders within the businesses and functions
  • Identify and implement tax process improvement opportunities

About You

You are most likely to be an ambitious tax professional in a large or medium sized professional services firm, or within industry, who has broad-based practical experience of corporate tax across advice, compliance, and tax accounting and reporting and who is looking to further your career within industry.At least 4 years of post-tertiary qualification experience is likely to be required but is not essential if sufficient breadth of experience and organisational capability and ability to learn can be demonstrated.

The following knowledge and experience is required:
  • Specialist knowledge of UK corporate income tax
  • Practical experience of international tax issues in a commercial setting
  • Experience in implementing tax processes and projects, including transactions, systems and processes

The following are desirable:
  • Knowledge of some or all of Treasury, Insurance and UK North Sea tax
  • Knowledge of UK VAT
  • Some knowledge of Employment of Duties
  • Tax experience in resources industry
  • In-house experience in a multinational listed corporate group
