About the role

The Superintendent Accommodation works within the Integrated Operations Services Leadership Team reporting to the Manager Services.  You will lead a team to provide exceptional customer service to deliver safe, compliant and efficient accommodation services to meet the requirements of the Olympic Dam Operation.  This includes village accommodation in Olympic Dam Village and Roxby Downs Village, and BHP Housing.

You will have a strong background in contractor management to drive our contract business partners to safely deliver scope of service, quality, statutory and contractual compliance.

You will have a passion for customer service, and will apply a continuous improvement mindset to improve the resident experience.  You will have a proven track record of providing accommodation services.

This is a Roxby Downs based position operating on a 5/2 4/3 FIFO roster arrangement or residential arrangementt,

Role Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Adhere to and demonstrate BHP Charter Values and Operating Discipline.
  • Ensure business goals, forecasts and budgets are met with a high level of accuracy and schedule adherence and provide active input into the 5 year planning process to ensure accommodation requirements are achieved.
  • Deliver the accommodation strategy as endorsed by the business, with a continuous improvement focus on improving the resident experience.
  • Use the BHP Contractor Management Framework to drive contract business partners to safely deliver scope of service, quality, statutory and contractual compliance.
  • Deliver systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Training and development of team members
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports and attend routine review meetings.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve service standards, productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through frequent inspection of the workplace.
  • Establishment of strong working relationships with the Services logistics, transport, and shut down operations teams.

About You

  • A degree in project management, accommodation management or related fields
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to influence and mentor others in HSEC principles and behaviours
  • Accommodation contract management experience
  • Ability to operate at multiple levels and across disciplines
  • Experience working with travel booking systems (SAMS) and dashboards and add-ons
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work well as a part of a team
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, and execute Trigger Action Response Plans
  • Computer literacy in MS suite of programs.
