About the role

Reporting to the Manager Delivery Olympic Dam, you will lead the site delivery team in risk assessment and management, as well as provide support to Project Leads and Managers in executing technology projects at Olympic Dam.

This position can be based at Olympic Dam and offered as a residential role or alternatively this could be offered as a FIFO role from Adelaide to Olympic Dam, working a 5/2 roster.

In this role you will:
  • Lead the team in the delivery of safe work practices that comply with the site Safety and Health Management System
  • Ensure compliance to OD Engineering standards and specifications for all newly procured plant and equipment across the operation
  • Assist with managing the Change control process for all modification and improvements to infrastructure through the effective execution of projects and ensure all documents are managed in accordance with the blueprint standard
  • Assist with managing cost to budget and be accountable for regular reporting to Project Leads and managers
  • Lead the site Delivery Team in risk assessment and management. Provide support to Project Leads and Managers with regard to Construction Risk Assessment Workshops and the resulting risk registers. Endorse all execution risk assessments prior to work, ensuring Delivery Manager approves these documents.
  • Lead the team in Field Leadership ensuring compliance with established time in field key performance indicators and maintaining quality interactions. Provide coaching as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Olympic Dam policies and procedures, utilising Documentum, the site document database.
  • Manage events, event reporting and investigations so as to meet or exceed our requirements on event management and reporting.
  • Provide accountability for work done by our team and contracting partners. Reporting progress as required to Project Leads and Management as required.
  • Ensure compliance with BHP Code of Conduct, Charter and Values. Track and report this compliance.
  • Conduct team performance management and staff development activities.
  • Manage site administration and operational readiness team members.
  • Consolidate section costs monthly.
  • Ensure all projects comply with our “Good to Go” process. Support Project Leads and Project Managers in the delivery of these requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication occurs across project stakeholders.
  • Attend or ensure Delivery Team has representation on all HAZOPs, CHAZOPs, design reviews and RRRTs for projects.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an effective leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.

You should have a detailed understanding of project management, engineering principles, standards and processes. You will need to be tertiary qualified in Engineering, electrical would be beneficial or have equivalent trade and industry experience to support the technical support requirements of the role. Mining industry experience and any SAP experience will be an advantage.
