About the role

An exciting opportunity exists to join our BMA Asset Engineering Team based in Brisbane.

Engineering at BMA plays a critical role in ensuring safety and stability of each Operation. The engineering function is accountable for the validation and assurance of the integrity of the Business Critical Equipment across all BMA Operations, the governance of the Blueprint and management of change as well as accountable for the management of the capital portfolio.

This role being based in at Brisbane and reporting to the Manager Asset Engineering will help support the business in leading the worlds largest operating Dragline fleet. The Dragline function provides life of asset, short term shutdown planning, technical support to the Operations and the Major Shutdown team. This role operates across multiple engineering disciplines applicable to draglines.

Having a focus on Draglines will allow you to:
  • Lead the development and approval of business case and planning works for shutdowns for the dragline fleet across the 5 year and Life of Asset horizon; 
  • Lead the Reliability, Engineering and Technical advancement of the dragline fleet; 
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (i.e. electrical, control systems, mechanical and structural) to solve complex problems;
  • Develop and contribute to the delivery of initiatives which support priorities for continuous improvement for both technical and equipment efficiency aspects;
  • Support and govern maintenance of the Operation's Dragline blue print (engineering standards, specifications drawings, processes, systems and procedures);
  • Collaborate with relevant departments, suppliers, consultants and contractors to support dragline technical improvements and shut downs; and
  • Support the integrated delivery of projects by the site Engineering team, asset projects or major projects groups.

About You

As a strong leader within the Governance and Technical Stewardship team within BMA you will hold a degree in Engineering and have extensive experience working in either maintenance or engineering of Draglines. Your experience in the mining industry, as well as contractor management will set you up for success, when liaising with a variety of stakeholders at all levels in this multidisciplinary role.

Your Technical expert knowledge of Draglines will see you succeed in this role as well as your proven experience within Asset Management and open cut mining operations. While your project management experience, and ability to take initiative, will help, you make an impact on a range of critical projects across the operations.
