About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent to join the Governance & Risk - PC&P team within the Procurement Excellence function.  The primary purpose of this role is to provide support to the Manager Governance and Risk in delivering effective and sustainable process improvements in support our transformation agenda and our governance framework for PC&P.
About the role
  • You will be working closely with Project and PC&P stakeholders (globally) to identify areas of process improvement, communicating priorities to key stakeholders, and  working together with PC&P and other value chains to implement best practice.  Reporting to the Manager Governance and Risk PC&P, the Superintendent role will be responsible for:
  • Leading collaboration with Global PC&P teams to identify areas of improvement and simplified ways of working;
  • Leading design and delivery of process improvement initiatives that align to business strategic objectives and yearly business plans;
  • Leading application of lean methodologies and principles to drive continuous improvements that support our transformation agenda;
  • Working closely with all PC&P stakeholders to deliver educational workshops and support their execution of the Governance and positive assurance framework;
  • Building and maintaining close working relationships across the team to ensure effective application of processes and the Governance framework;
  • Development of documentation (standards, guidelines, work instructions, process maps etc.) as appropriate to support PC&P end-to-end contract lifecycle;
  • Provide SME support to the Work Design team for the development and implementation of corporate-wide, Commercial or Procurement specific governance initiatives.
Additionally, you will assist with fostering a positive team culture; leading by example and ensuring that there is a culture of teamwork and cooperation between PC&P team members and also between the broader Governance & Risk team.You will be required to capture and share learnings and opportunities across other Supply Sub-Functions and BHP assets.

About You

  • You will be self-motivated individual with at 5+ years’ experience within PC&P or a similar position;
  • You will have an excellent understanding of PC&P end-to-end processes and the activities that add value to BHP;
  • You will leverage your ‘user experience’ to improve the design and execution of PC&P processes and systems;
  • You will possess superior problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business processes, identify improvement opportunities and recommend solution options.
  • You will be an advocate for managing and enabling change and you will participate in and lead change management activities for small to medium scale change processes.
  • You will demonstrate strong leadership, coaching and mentoring capability, a commercial outlook and exemplary judgement (balance business value vs. risk) to deliver best outcomes;
  • You will be a self-starter, detail oriented, organised and objective, with advanced communication skills that can influence a diverse stakeholder group (frontline to executive);
  • You will be able to work within a virtual team environment across multiple time zones;
  • A proven ability to build, grow and manage relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders is essential;
  • A background in assurance, risk management and / or project management background would also be an advantage for this position;
  • You will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in either Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law or Commerce.
