About the role

New South Wales Energy Coal consists of the Mt Arthur Coal open-cut energy coal mine in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. The site produces coal for domestic and international customers in the energy sector. 

We are seeking a Superintendent to join the maintenance team at Mt Arthur Coal. As part of the maintenance team, you will have the opportunity to develop a collaborative and engaged team who can make positive change to safety, equipment performance and cost efficiency at our operation.

Being based in the Hunter Valley you will have access to enjoy, like the rest of us, your time outside of work. With access to Australia’s best wines, beaches and our largest city will provide plenty to do when you are not engaged with our successful team.

You will enable your team to deliver safer, higher quality and more cost efficient maintenance practices at Mt Arthur Coal. You will also focus on building relationships with OEMs, internal stakeholders and contractors while being responsible for our continuous improvement pipeline, which will help your team to think outside the box to improve how we do things.

About You

Your ability to, engage with your colleagues and make strong connections in our business coupled with your natural tendency to identify opportunities for improvement will set you and your team up for success.

You will have a passion for building teams and will love working together to solve problems. You can have a background in engineering or heavy industry and if you don’t, you will be excited about developing one!
