About the role

This role is located at Caval Ridge, 12km west of Moranbah with a choice of flexible rosters supporting FIFO out of Brisbane and DIDO from local areas.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Superintendent Reliability Engineering is responsible for leading a team of Reliability Engineers, Condition Monitoring specialist and Asset Health specialists who drive the Maintenance performance and benchmarking through defect elimination, continuous improvement, strategy and reliability fundamentals.

Your key focus will be on Reliability improvements and the elimination of defects in the end-to-end maintenance system; inclusive of defects in parts, procedures, work quality and processes. Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives that enable Maintenance excellence and support business priorities for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
  • Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business;
  • Strong levels of engagement to identify where we can improve our site performance and safety;
  • Leads, coaches and mentors team members to ensure delivery against performance targets;
  • Lead and embed defect elimination rhythms and routines, ensuring triggered events are reviewed, investigated, actions implemented and monitored for effectiveness, with learnings shared with other Reliability sub-functions;
  • Develop, implement and facilitate improvement initiatives across maintenance through sound financial and technical analysis;
  • Support your team in initiating and conduct root cause analysis and 'failure type' reviews (e.g. 5 Whys, RCA, Apollo, Causal Tree, Fish-bone) of heavy mobile and fixed plant equipment;
  • Lead preparation, development and reporting of Maintenance Department budget and forecast;
  • Create, maintain and improve locally governed equipment strategies, preventative maintenance & corrective Task Lists;
  • Analyse work management, plant and equipment performance;
  • Facilitate the technical input and optimisation of the maintenance strategies for equipment across site; and
  • Provide technical support to maintenance execution to support work quality and safe execution of work.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have a background in engineering or equivalent with relevant reliability and asset management experience with heavy mobile or fixed plant equipment. Knowledge of defect elimination and root cause analysis experience coupled with analytical, problem solving skills and financial acumen will ensure success in this role.

Experience with SAP and excel skills will be advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to support cross-departmental engagement and effective communication throughout multiple levels of the business.
