About the role

Core Accountabilities
  • Drive world class contract management performance with an emphasis on strategic and complex contracts for Minera Escondida.
  • Develop robust and innovative contract and procurement strategies using historical and future project portfolio data to preserve and improve project portfolio value.
  • Understand local market conditions to meet individual project portfolio requirements.
  • Ensure that market engagement is planned and executed to meet project schedule, quality and cost objectives.
  • Ensure the team has sufficient capacity and capability to provide end-to-end contract management and support project teams.
  • Manage total cost of ownership awareness in project contracts and procurement activities.
  • Manage contractor and contract performance monitoring and reporting to support the Projects Category.
  • Establish and lead relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support to lead negotiations with vendors and provide on-going contract management;
  • Provide leadership that will ensure consistency & high performance against individual asset  and Supply KPIs.
  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management while working collaboratively with projects and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Drive and coach suppliers, Contract Owners and Contract Owner Representatives to optimize supplier performance within the contract framework.
  • Lead the pursuit of projects, operational and commercial excellence through continuous improvement.
  • Apply sound commercial judgement around application of contractual terms and conditions to ensure the contractors performs their obligations under the contract.
  • Lead the implementation of appropriate systems, and processes based on project risk and complexity.
  • Ensure the integrity and maintenance of contract in BRAVO systems and other contract management systems as required;
  • Take responsibility for and providing leadership on claims prevention, assessment and resolution by applying expert knowledge and advice.
  • As required, support direct tendering, negotiation & implementation of complex and high value contracts across Minerals America to reduce total cost to the business.
  • Share replicable current state opportunities across categories and assets to drive enterprise level opportunity.
  • Support Strategic Sourcing or Supply Process improvement projects within Category Management;
  • Ensure local and federal government legislation.
  • Support activities such that Supply meets the Business Plan and Global KPIs.
  • Develop and implement advanced commercial techniques to leverage value creation opportunities.
  • Leads and influences the selection and implementation of commercial models in support of various project delivery models.
