About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Supervisor Accommodation Maintenance is responsible for managing all maintenance requirements on BHP accommodation and non-mining infrastructure in Dysart and Blackwater. The successful candidate will lead an established high performing team to deliver work against the plan for safety, volume, cost and productivity.The supervisor will direct and guide the housing strategy and implementation for maintenance activities executed by our diverse maintenance team.

In addition, the Supervisor Accommodation Maintenance will:
  • Lead by example and guide the team in the delivery of safe work practices complying with site health and safety management systems, monitor performance against specified targets and standards;
  • Execute maintenance activities to plan through the management of the work teams;
  • Ensure standardisation of work liaising with other town Supervisors to ensure compliance;
  • Effectively manage the budget and reporting requirements;
  • Delivering optimal results from the resources allocated, leveraging off any improvement tools or functions available;
  • Identify process and system improvements initiatives through data analysis of work management reports;
  • Cultivate positive relationships with peers and vendor related teams through effective communication.

This is a role is based at our Dysart Maintenance Depot and will be on a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster.

About You

  • Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and support a high performing maintenance team;
  • Ability effectively manage and coordinate maintenance work to meet required deadlines;
  • Hold a trade certificate in carpentry or equivalent building trade qualification;   
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills; 
  • QBCC licence preferable;
  • Acquired working knowledge of relevant Australian standards and building codes; 
  • Previous budget management exposure;
  • Proven experience maintaining management systems, SAP experience preferable;
  • Proven ability to uphold an exceptional level of safety management, including delivering safety focus to your team on a daily basis through pre starts and one on one interactions.

This position would best suit a collaborative team player with strong leadership skills, with an extensive background in building and house maintenance. High level stakeholder engagement and time management skills are paramount to success in this role.
