About the role

The Deviation Management Supervisor role resides within the Supply Chain Scheduling team. The role is principally accountable for leading the day to day decision making across the entire logistics chain with regards to the movement of product from mine stockpile to the ship hatch through the WAIO logistics chain. Reporting to the Superintendent Deviation Management, you will play an integral role by:
  • Maintaining an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. 
  • Leading and developing a team of logistics schedulers, providing ongoing coaching and driving a positive and high performing team culture.  
  • Developing tactics and strategies aimed at maximising supply chain throughput in various operating modes, ensuring these strategies are actively pursued, communicated and updated as the business requirements change. 
  • Ensuring that as a team, we’re absolutely in tune with what's happening in the present and future. We can read the play quickly and steer the system effectively in response. 
  • Our processes are agile and we can quickly learn and adapt to change.
  • Being agile we can quickly learn and adapt to change, the role will actively drive the development and implementation of initiatives, processes and systems that support improvement.
  • Ensuring internal processes and standards are kept up to date and align to the way we operate. 

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Highly alert to opportunity and risk with a strong bias to action, able rapidly respond to capture upside or mitigate risk
  • Effective and comfortable in not only dealing with continually chaining operating dynamics, but also in leading with a highly adaptive leadership style.
  • Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills are required as the role revolves strongly around influencing stakeholders in the delivery of positive business outcomes.
  • Experience across Mines/Rail/Port operations or maintenance areas would be desirable but not essential.
