About the role

This role will be responsible for managing a small team of electricians and instrumentation specialist responsible for the maintenance of surface fixed plant equipment across Olympic Dam. The Supervisor Electrical Maintenance will lead the team to ensure operational requirements including achievement of individual, team and site objectives and KPI’s are met and maintained. 

The Supervisor Electrical Maintenance will also be responsible for:
  • Providing guidance and direction to a team of electricians and instrumentation specialist, ensuring appropriate use of electrical resources to maximise benefit to the company and to maximise the availability of the plant. 
  • Direct planned, unplanned and routine maintenance inspections and checks to equipment.
  • Assist in resolution of electrical issues affecting equipment performance and availability.
  • Complete regular safety checks, assessments and discussions with the team, work to mitigate associated risks across operations to ensure safety and risk management requirements are met. 
  • Manage administrative tasks in SAP and conduct electrical maintenance reports and audits as required. 
  • Work in with the various project teams to ensure the asset is able to meet its requirements and work with mining departments to achieve targets.

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities. 

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7 days / 7 off / 7 nights / 7 off roster, with residential or FIFO options available from Adelaide SA. 

About You

Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership. Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team.

To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Electrical trade certificate
  • SA A-class electrical workers license or the ability to obtain 
  • C class manual driver’s license 
  • Experience working in mining and heavy industry environments
  • Proven ability to lead a team and drive positive culture in conjunction with other team supervisors
  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • Previous experience in functional area is desirable, but not essential
  • SAP experience highly regarded
