About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor to lead a focused and experienced team of maintainers ensuring the safe execution of maintenance activities at our Yandi mine site. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant, this rewarding role will include:
  • Leading and coaching a diverse group of mixed trades people (approx 8 in total)
  • Completing workplace inspections and field leadership activities to ensure your team are operating safely 
  • Managing breakdowns across our fixed plant assets and responding according to priority
  • Maintaining a knowledge and understanding of the costs of maintenance.  Assisting your Superintendent with budget and cost control processes by managing the day-to-day costs within agreed levels and reporting on overruns and underruns
  • In collaboration with your Superintendent, actively reviewing the plans generated to ensure plans are logical and realistic.  Planning  and executing unscheduled work resulting from breakdowns or backlog
  • Performance management to include regular 1:1s and development meetings 
  • Completing shift handovers with off going Supervisors 
  • The role is to also develop a continuous improvement culture and ensure all ore handling plant and associated equipment is maintained by the team utilising the 1SAP framework 

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • A proven track record of safety management
  • Leadership capability and a passion for supporting your team to meet their goals
  • A passion for continuous improvement 
  • Candidates with a mechanical trade qualification or engineering background will be considered favorably 
  • Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in executing and supervising maintenance activities

In the medium term, it is likely this role will move to an even time 2/2 roster.
