About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join our high-performing Broadmeadow team, as a permanent team member. Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Development, the Supervisor’s primary focus in this role is to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of development and diesel equipment for Broadmeadow’s underground coal mining operations.  

This position is based at our BMA Broadmeadow underground coal mine. Broadmeadow mine is an underground coal mine in the Bowen Basin Region of Queensland, 25 kilometres from the town of Moranbah.

This position is offered on a lifestyle roster 5D5X4N4X2D3NX5X. 

As the Supervisor Maintenance Development, your responsibilities will include:
  • Execute maintenance tasks on Sandvik continuous miners, joy shuttle cars and other development / diesel underground equipment.
  • Ensure compliance to the weekly plan and maintenance schedules.
  • Participate in field leadership activities to ensure safety is maintained to a high standard. 
  • Provide technical fault finding support to underground mechanical and electrical trades during breakdowns.
  • Conduct investigations into HSEC and production delays using LEAN processes and implement continuous improvement measures.

About You

This is a hands on position which will see the successful candidate working in the field with a team of maintenance technician's. We are seeking someone who can work collaboratively with a team, doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty and who can hit the ground running. The successful candidate will lead by example and support and manage a team of experienced maintenance technicians.  

The ideal candidate for this role will have minimum of 5 years’ experience in an underground mining environment and will ideally have the following: 
  • Hold a mechanical or electrical trade certificate.
  • Have experience in the maintenance of Sandvik continuous miners, joy shuttle cars and other development/diesel underground equipment.
  • Experience in executing work management plans. 
  • Experience working in a leadership role, successfully managing a large team. 
  • S1, S2, S3 essential and G2 desirable.
  • Have high level communication skills with the ability to problem solve and work to deadlines.  
  • Proficiency in SAP highly desirable. 
  • Experience working in the Coal mining industry, preferred but not essential.
