About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Supervisor Maintenance Infrastructure to join our team at Goonyella Riverside on a day shift only. Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the effective supervision of a diverse team of tradespeople responsible for safely executing planned and corrective maintenance work.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, dynamic leader who has a proactive commitment to safety, preventive maintenance processes and the confidence to involve their people in all elements of the job. Demonstrated interpersonal skills are necessary to be an effective leader of a broadly skilled team.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee, direct and coordinate preventative maintenance activities, manage breakdown work in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner
  • Manage, coach and lead a team of contractors
  • Manage maintenance activities through site systems and processes
  • Actively participate in the planning and materials control processes and maintenance improvement initiatives
  • Comply with all standard procedures, legislation and regulations
  • Monitor maintenance budgets and involvement in their preparation


About You

  • Several years’ front line leadership experience preferably in open cut coal mining
  • Electrical Trade qualifications
  • Experience with High Voltage electrical work and Overhead power lines
  • Competencies including RIIRIS301D (previously RIIRIS301B, RIIRIS301A, MNCG1001A or QMS1), RIIWHS301D (previously RIIOHS301A, MNCG1008A or QMS2) and RIICOM301D (previously RIICOM301B, RIICOM301A, MNCG1009A or QMS3)
  • Proven ability to build a culture of care within the workforce
  • Passionate and energetic, with the ability to influence and build relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience working within a budget and ability to forecast spend
  • Well-developed organisational, analytical, verbal and writing skills
  • Experience managing a team of tradespeople and subcontractors
  • Experience with Contractor Management Systems highly regarded
  • Experience with the 1SAP system and/or Fiori highly regarded
  • Key knowledge of defect resolution and continuous improvement
