About the role

Reporting to Superintendent Mine Services, the Supervisor Shift is responsible for managing all aspects of shift performance. You will be managing a team of approx 20 employees, allocating duties to the deliver optimum results and ensure production targets are achieved. This position is an Olympic Dam Mine Site based opportunity and will be offered on a 7 / 7 day and night roster basis.

Key accountabilities may include
  • Lead consistently against the Olympic Dam core safety behaviours, as detailed in the HSEC management systems roles and responsibilities
  •   Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through frequent inspection of the workplace.
  •  Strive to eliminate injuries and incidents in the workplace by proactively managing safety.
  • Conduct workplace investigations as required and provide adequate documentation.
  •  Encourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures.
  •  Participate in projects as directed by department superintendent / supervisor / manager.

About You

To be considered, you will have completed or are in the process of completing the a Certificate 2 or 3 in Underground Metalliferous Mining, along with a demonstrated experience with underground hard rock mining and have some previous/current Supervisory experience.

You will have the ability to set challenging goals and standards of performance to ensure the production team is performing consistently under pressure to meet timeframes, budget and output targets.

A relevant tertiary / technical qualification in a relevant Mechanical Trade of Fitter and Turner or Boiler Making will ensure your success in this role.
