About BHP

The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.
Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.
This is a rare and exiting opportunity for a dynamic individual to be part of something big – to work in an innovative team, with evolving technology, and playing a pivotal role in creating a world class mine.

About the role

This role will see you lead a team of load & Haul personnel to plan the forthcoming load & haul activities.  As the supervisor you will play a key role in ensuring South Flanks’ daily and weekly production targets are met and the statutory and company audit schedules are maintained. You will also have an emphasis on ensuring all working standards are compliant and take a proactive stance on continuous improvement initiatives.

You will supervise, lead and coach operators in best operating practices, to ensure physical pit conditions such as pit roads, dumps and loading areas are maintained to the highest standard and to ensure safety and working standards are maintained to such an extent that work may be stopped if standards are not met.

About You

As the Supervisor, you will have a proven track record in leading a team on a large-scale open cut mining operation. By utilising your excellent relationship building and influencing skills alongside your strong technical expertise across load and haul activities, you will be able to coach and mentor your team to support a strong safety culture whilst achieving high performance.  Your scheduling capabilities, knowledge of the Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations along with your impressive safety record will enable your success in this role.
