About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Autonomy, within the Jimblebar Mining Operations team your duties will include:We are seeking a diverse and talented individual to take on the key role of Supervisor Mining Production Autonomy within our Load & Haul team. Your duties will include:
  • Responsible on a daily basis for control and supervision of the mine in accordance with the Mine Safety and Inspection Act 1994, subject to any instructions given to the Superintendent Load & Haul, the Quarry Manager or on behalf of the Manager of Mining
  • As a Section 44 Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations in accordance with your appointment
  • Maximize compliance with operational plan by ensuring that all activities under the supervisors control are carried out in accordance with the operation plan and work instructions
  • Provide day to day leadership to the production team and allocate duties to deliver the Plan and ensure all development targets are achieved
  • By routine personal inspection and daily interactions, monitor performance of equipment and compliance with operating procedures

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Substantial experience in large scale open pit equipment operation
  • Extensive experience in leading, coaching and mentoring employees to deliver on plan and building a competent, engaged and disciplined team
  • Working knowledge of the Mines Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Experience working with autonomous fleet advantageous
  • Unrestricted WA Quarry Manager's Certificate is desirable
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across workgroups
  • Minimum of C class manual drivers licence

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 7/7 roster. Jimblebar is the first Greenfield mine in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia.  The outstanding facilities at the brand new FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, outdoor cinema, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court; beach volleyball court, games room and TV lounge. All rooms at the village have access to 3G wireless internet and Skype, an ensuite bathroom, flat screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
