About the role

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

This position is based at Olympic Dam Mine Site working a Monday to Friday day shift roster with residential, DIDO or FIFO which is limited to Adelaide, options available.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Mobile Fleet, the Supervisor Mobile Equipment Boiler Shop is responsible for leading the Mobile Fleet Boilermakers maintenance teams with responsibility for weekly and long-term execution, as well as providing planning input to ensure the safe achievement of department objectives.

In this role you will:
• Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
• Coordinate and direct maintenance staff and contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities carried out on Mobile equipment within the workshop
• Ensure timely resolution of safety issues, providing communication and consultation of safety related matters with work teams
• Build relationships with other departments and employees to ensure any maintenance issues are addressed and resolved effectively in a timely manner
• Encourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
• Work with staff around development opportunities and improvement within their own careers
• Facilitate daily pre-start meetings and make field inspections to determine appropriate scopes of work as required.

About You

In this role you will:
• Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
• Minimum trade level qualifications in Boilermaking and Welding
• Mining or Heavy mobile equipment experience is preferred
• Recent experience in a similar leadership role
• Sound knowledge of work management processes
• Ability to plan and schedule services to ensure completion within allocated time frames
• Capable in influencing and mentoring others in operational discipline, as well as HSEC principles and behaviours
• Ability to quickly and constructively work across disciplines, as well as various departments and teams.
