About the role

Our Technology stream is a rapidly changing landscape which aims to drive improvement in safety, volume and cost through the application of world class technology and the development of our people. Global teams leading innovation support our assets, accelerating technology delivery and driving functional excellence. As a Supervisor Site Operations you will be Section 44 appointed and responsible for the safety and wellbeing of your team whilst caring for, and maintaining all site based technology including both IT/OT systems. Reporting to the Superintendent Site Operations, your key accountabilities will include:
  • Responsible for Technology resources on site by Section 44 appointment and ensure your team works within the Safe Systems of Work, including safety, training and a changing working environment
  • Positively influence and shape team culture to ensure a safe, productive, sustainable and disciplined approach to work
  • Encourages Zero Harm philosophy
  • Upskills the team members and including themselves and supports succession planning
  • Foster relationships between Technology and site operational (mines, port and rail) to deliver technology service requirements and ensures the delivery of premium site support services
  • Work with infrastructure, communications, applications teams and vendors to ensure the effective management, running and maintenance of the technology environment to support business operations including: desktops, fleet management and plant process control systems, operational radio technology, wireless telemetry and videoconferencing
  • Management of all site based technology assets including deployment pool, spares, repairs and maintenance along with the required records and documentation to support compliance
  • Coordinates and manages maintenance tasks to optimise the technology environment and minimise any impacts to business continuity
  • Manages and coordinates resources available on site to ensure incidents and events can be resolved in accordance with business priorities/expectations
  • Works with the Technology Mines Principals, Project Managers and Engineering to facilitate site based project activities to ensure safe execution of work and minimal disruption to operations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a good understanding of mining operations and mining practices. You are likely to be multi-skilled and have knowledge of Mining Operating Technology, Fleet Management, Digital Radio, Process Control or Desk Top, Windows 7 Enterprise Support, but this is not essential! More importantly, you will be a great people manager with at least 12 months’ experience working in a Supervisory capacity. You will have outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels.
As the preferred candidate, you possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a high-pressure environment. You can interpret and read maintenance plans and technical information.  Experience of 1SAP Supervisor Work Management and 1SAP Planner Work Management would be advantageous. Proven Safety leadership skills and a C class driver’s licence are mandatory requirements for this role. Experience in problem management, leading workshops and cost-control will be well regarded.
