About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent OT Site Operations Port, as a Supervisor Site Operations you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of all site-based technology and IT/OT systems at the BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal.

In the role of Supervisor Site Operations you will:
  • Be first & foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing & coaching your team
  • Site-responsible person for Technology resources on site and ensure your team works within the Safe Systems of Work, including safety, training and a changing working environment
  • Foster relationships between Technology and site operations to deliver technology service requirements and ensures the delivery of premium site support services
  • Work with infrastructure, communications, applications teams and vendors to ensure the effective management, running and maintenance of the technology environment to support business operations including: desktops, process control systems, operational radio technology, communication networks, and videoconferencing
  • Management of all site-based technology assets including deployment pool, spares, repairs and maintenance along with the required records and documentation to support compliance
  • Coordinates and manages maintenance tasks to optimise the technology environment and minimise any impacts to business continuity
  • Manages and coordinates resources available on site to ensure incidents and events can be resolved in accordance with business priorities/expectations
  • Works with Technology, Project Managers, and Engineering to facilitate site-based project activities to ensure safe execution of work and minimal disruption to operations
  • Acts as the escalation contact for Technology site operations issues
  • Applies work management processes and ensures compliance to the departments KPI’s
  • Upskills the team members, including themselves, and supports succession planning

About You

To be successful as a leader in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification or trade qualification with proven experience in leading a team. Your strong focus on safety, drive and passion to lead and develop people to reach their potential will see you succeed in this role. Your people and communication skills are of the upmost importance as well as your relationship skills when liaising, negotiating and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience with 1SAP will be beneficial.

The successful candidate will have:
  • A relevant tertiary degree (Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline) or relevant trade qualification (Electrical/Instrumentation)
  • A background in Operational Technology, preferably in Mining
  • Familiarity with mining operations technology, fixed plant and process control systems
  • A proven track record of safety leadership/supervision of teams in an operational environment
  • An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Drive for continuous learning/improvement and adaptable to new technologies and approaches.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
  • Proactively builds relationships with customers/partners
  • Experience with SAP Work Management is desirable
  • Experience in managing costs / cost-control against budget
  • Valid Australian C class driver's license
  • Knowledge in Windows 7/10 enterprise desktop support (desirable)
