About the role

Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, within the Health, Safety and Environment team, this is a FIFO role in the Pilbara region. Your duties will include, but not limited to:

• Ensure team conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
• An overriding commitment to the team’s health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
• Lead command and control activities during actual or simulated emergency events.
• Lead teams to maintain systems to ensure emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery is effective.
• Liaising with Operational Leaders to ensure emergency response, medical & clinical management requirements are coordinated and planed.
• Lead and manage team to execute specific Security and Emergency Management (SEM) projects aligned with HSE Business Plan.
• Ensure operational medical & emergency response readiness is maintained.
• Leadership in service delivery of site security duties.
• Ensure team complies with BHP Medical treatment and drug protocols / guidelines.
• Complete reports; manage records & record team development and performance conversations.
• Clinical governance assurance and other compliance auditing.
• Responsible for Security and Emergency Management spend and budgeting.

About You

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competent in computer use and the MS office suite
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing people in emergency situations (Command and Control)
  • Cert 4 in Health Care Ambulance or equivalent
  • Certificate III Mines rescue or equivalent or able to attain one (at own expense)
  • Drug and alcohol collection
  • Workplace Trainer & Assessor
  • Leadership and team management
  • Previous experience working in remote areas highly regarded
  • Exposure to Health, Safety and Environment protocols
  • Minimum of C class driver’s license – HR Preferable
