About the role

To lead field support teams (BHP personnel and contractors) to safely undertake day-to-day preventive maintenance of site systems (IT&OT) as per work instructions, 1SAP work management and Service Now processes and any maintenance schedules.

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical advice and executes tasks for field support to operations, which include Fleet Management, Wireless Telemetry and Control Systems, Networking and Server Infrastructure, Digital Radio, CCTV along with support to Workplace Technology services (Desktop and Meeting Rooms), ensuring the compromised service delivery for support and operational continuity of IT&OT infrastructure.
  • Provide field support including: repairs, replacements, fault finding, improvements, configuration of devices, updates and testing, utilizing monitoring tools and specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • Active involvement of these systems in the maintenance and preventative maintenance planning process.
  • Demonstrate commitment and conformance to the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  •  For the day-to-day Availability and Maintenance of the Fleet Management, Wireless Telemetry and Control Systems, Networking and Server Infrastructure, Digital Radio support to Workplace Technology services (Desktop and Meeting Rooms)
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Ensure all incidents, near misses or hazards are reported and investigated to ensure compliance with the BHP and Site incident reporting guidelines.

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience with similar role in the mining industry
  • Requires detailed knowledge of tasks related to maintaining mining equipment or at least 7 years of experience in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Proven safety leadership skills – operational environment
  • Supervision of teams – operational environment
  • Problem management and leading workshops
  • Experience in support of IT systems and networks.
  • Experience in a large-scale mining, processing plant or industrial operation preferred
  • Experience with a safety management system (desirable).
  • Experience with an automated plant control system (desirable).
  • Experience with copper ore processing (desirable).
  • Experience troubleshooting fiber optics network systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: collaborating with a medium group of internal stakeholders on individual contributor and supervisory level.
