About the role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Auto Electrician to join our Maintenance team at Cliffs. The successful individual will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will demonstrate the following:
  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development
  • Auto Electrical diagnosing and repairing of underground machinery (Caterpillar loaders, Atlas Copco trucks, Sandvik drills, Atlas Copco drills, Volvo IT L50/L120, Normet spray and charge rigs
  • Diagnose and repair RCT remote control system faults on Caterpillar loaders and assist with level set up design of RCT remote control systems in the mine 
  • Ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed
  • Auto Electrical maintenance and repairs on Light vehicles (Toyota)
  • Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes

Nickel West Cliffs is located approximately 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.  Cliffs underground Nickel Mine is an integral part of Nickel West Leinster comprising of a nickel concentrator and dryer, located 12 kilometres south of Nickel West Mt Keith. Employees at Cliffs reside at the Mt Keith village,  some of the amenities at your disposal include internet connection, outdoor swimming pool, health and fitness equipment, indoor cricket, basketball court, BBQ areas plus and arrange of social activities.  

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
  • Auto Electrical Trade Qualification
  • RCT experience highly desirable
  • Air Conditioning / Refrigeration experience
  • Must have experience with Atlas Copco drills S7D, Sandvik drills 420/430 and Caterpillar Loaders 1300/1700/2900
  • Experience with the following software programs highly regarded; Caterpillar Electronic Technician, Cummins Insite, Allison transmission, Mini Diag
  • Minimum of C class manual Drivers Licence
  • Computer literacy and/or experience in 1SAP
  • Experience in underground mining operations environment is highly desirable
  • Motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and engage in team operations
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
