About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Electrician to join our Ancillary Mobile Maintenance team in Mining Area C on a 2 weeks on / 4 weeks off FIFO roster (Part-Time). You will utilize your technical expertise to execute electrical work on site in line with the maintenance schedule, while striving for continuous improvement in order to maximize tool time and improve productivity and safety outcomes. 
Reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance, you will play an integral role by:
  • Ensure conformance to the BHP Billiton Charter, Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Display an overriding commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental Responsibility and Sustainable Development.
  • Report all incidents
  • Attend and participate in pre-start and safety meetings
  • Participate in continuous improvement and non-conformance register process

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Cert III Automotive Electrical - essential
  • Forklift licence, Overhead Crane license - essential
  • Automotive Air Conditioning License, Dogging and Rigging License - highly desirable
  • Previous experience working on ancillary equipment such as CAT graders, wheel & track dozers would be highly desirable, particularly experience working on Komatsu WA1200. 
  • C class driver’s license as a minimum 
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes
