About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician who has Field Equipment Maintenance experience to join our team in Eastern Ridge! Reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance, your duties will include:
  • Understand the significant HSE risks for which you have principal responsibility and ensure controls are implemented
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute value to the business from a MEM perspective, ensuring compliance to the Change Management Procedure
  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Maintenance in Mobile Plant, 
  • Following specific maintenance programs and procedures
  • Operation of mobile equipment within limits of competence, training and experience.
  • Carrying out checks on equipment as required
  • Accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings as required.
  • Use of computerised maintenance systems (SAP), including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders
  • Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of competence without being supervised
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, review and amendment of Quality Assurance documents as required
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities when required
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way

About You

As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:
  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification with proven post trade work experience. Any previous experience on Liebherr R9400 Excavators, Atlas Copco PV271 and D65 Drills will be highly regarded.
  • C and HR Driver's License
  • Forklift Licence
  • EWP, Working at Heights, Dogman
  • Confined Space, CN (Non Slewing Crane), CV (Hiab) - Desirable
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to work closely in a team environment
  • Strong heavy vehicle mechanical fitting maintenance competency, with sound diagnostic abilities
  • Computer skills – using Microsoft Office suite, SAP, Excel
  • Ability to work of schematic drawings
  • Competent with systems such as SIS & VIMS
  • Exposure to asset management principles 

Location

With this role, you will be fly in fly out from Perth to Newman on a 2/1 (7 days, 7 nights, 7 off) roster and be based at our Eastern Ridge mine. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis court, basketball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
