About the role

In this role you will safely and efficiently support production across the Hydromet and Solvent Extraction areas, ensuring reliable and cost effective production of copper electrolyte, uranium oxide concentrate and disposal of process liquors. You will be an active team member who adheres to operating requirements and strives for the achievement of individual, team and site goals. In this role you will:
  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Continually learn and maintain an understanding of the processes involved in the Hydromet and Solvent Extraction areas and be a proactive contributor for your team
  • Establish strong working relationships within the work team and other department members
  • Utilise available resources and process knowledge to achieve department targets
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner within allocated timeframes, ensuring all safe work systems, procedures and standards are met
  • Support continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
  • Maintain area log sheets and records of area activity and performance against targets, including conducting sampling as required
  • Analyse laboratory results to ensure that the process is performing to requirements and in the event of deviations make recommendations to the Control Room Technicians
  • Conduct regular plant inspections to identify critical issues which may impact negatively on KPI targets and report these issues to the supervisor
  • Maintain an understanding of the processes involved and work within a team environment
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping in respective areas

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential 
  • Ability to work effectively within the Olympic Dam operations and functional teams
  • Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • A working knowledge of MS Office software, particularly MS Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Experience with 1SAP or a similar computer system preferred, but not essential
