About the role

This is an ideal opportunity for enthusiastic and proactive, experienced Heavy Haulage Train Drivers to join our Rail Operations Team. With this role, you have the choice of either being fly-in fly-out from Perth or residentially based in Port Hedland or Newman.  An attractive 2 week on 2 week off  fly-in fly-out roster or 6 days on 6 days off residential roster will be offered. Flexible work and job share opportunities will also be considered. 

As a Heavy Haulage Train Driver you will play a key role by:

• Operating locomotives and providing operational support to safely and efficiently deliver iron ore to our Finucane Island and Nelson Point port facilities 
• Performing yard and shunting duties in accordance with our train schedules, relevant standards and work instructions
• Being a committed team player and working in partnership with our other Rail departments to ensure Rail Operations is safely aligned to our wider business

About You

As the successful candidate, you will live in Western Australia or be willing to relocate to Western Australia. You will possess the following:

• An unrelenting commitment to the BHP Charter Values and code of conduct, our overriding principles on how we treat each other 
• Alignment with the BHP pledge to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the highest standards of work
• Experience in the operation of heavy haul trains preferred
• Knowledge of principles and concepts related to train handling of heavy haul trains
• Certificate IV in Train Driving or equivalent is preferred
• Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster
